Hi all,
I am trying to process two rows using dynamic lookup.
First column is the primary key(100 here)(flatfile source)
Rows data is as follows:
100,king,78
100,king,80
The data with 100 is not there in the target table earlier
So the Newlookuprow is 1 and the first row is getting inserted into cache.
My view is once the workflow was executed, the cache has to be updated with second row as 100,king,80 and I am thinking this will be te only row in the target table.
But I am finding the first row alone in the target.
Am I missing any option to set in the dynamic lkp trasnformation??
when I am executing the workflow for one row after the other it is working fine. First inserting and updating second time.
where is the mistake???
Regards,
Satish
Hi Sathish
Actually we could use dynamic lookup but it makes things a bit complicated (that's the information i got from one of my superiors..). So instead of putting the actual and updated data in a single load try to go for incremental load where the new data come in initial load and the updated record comes in the incremental load. Thats how i was able to tackle the problem. But I am still working on how to put everything in a single load....
Hi All, Even I am too
Hi All,
Even I am too facing the same problem that is faced by Satish. I had 2 records like
1762, raj, 25 & 1762, kumar, 35.. First 1762,raj..gets inserted as there is no record with id 1762 in target but the second record 1762, kumar..arrives it goes n looks in the target for 1762 and it needs to update 1762, raj to 1762,kumar. But the thing is when I run the mapping for first time only the first record gets inserted but not updated by second record. But when I run the mapping for second time the second record goes n updates the first record without affecting any other record. But I need the whole things to get wrapped in a single run. How can I do this??
Hello kumar, You got any
Hello kumar,
You got any update on this????
Use dynamic look up
Hi Guys
First, you got only first record inserted. This is because of the default look up property called as "return first value". If you have multiple records with matching condition first record will be inserted and the second record might be written to log file.
To avoid this problem , you have to use dynamic property in informatica look up transformation. It may give you some performance lag, but some times we have to understand the trade offs.
Data Modeler/ETL Designer
Hey guys - just reaching out to see if anyone is looking or if you know someone looking right now for a fulltime job. Please see the following need at and let me know if anyone is available/interseted. Thanks guys ! Joe
Data Modeler/ETL Designer – We need a strong technical resource that has experience doing logical and physical data modeling for multi source data warehouse and data mart/reporting solution. Utilities industry experience would be a major plus. This resource would also be involved in ETL Design activities as the data modeling role diminished. Client is using Informatica v8.6 for ETL, and erWin 4.0 for data modeling. Experience in each of these technical platforms is a prerequisite
